1 Samuel 3:11
The Lord said to Samuel, "Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
The Lord said to Samuel, "Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
Romans 10:1 NKJV
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved."
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved."
Psalms 83:4
They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may be remembered no more."
2 Chronicles 20:29
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.
Obadiah 1:15 NLT
"The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge all godless nations! As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds
will fall back on your own heads.
Deuteronomy 33:29
Blessed are you, O Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord,
Who is the shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, and you will tread upon their high places."
10 REASONS WE SUPPORT ISRAEL
1- John 4:22
You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
New King James Version
We support Israel because they gave us the Messiah. There would be no Jesus without Israel. There would be no salvation without Israel. God chose Israel to bring salvation and hope to the world.
2- We support Israel because Jesus our Lord and Savior is Jewish. Let's look at some Bible truths that prove Jesus is Jewish.
1- He was born in Bethlehem, Israel and grew up in Nazareth (Micah 5:2 and Matthew 2:23)
2- He was called Rabbi (Mark 9:5; John 1:38 and 49; 3:2)
3- He was circumcised the eighth day according to Jewish law (Luke 2:21)
4- His custom was to worship in synagogues on the Sabbath (Luke 4:16)
5- According to Matthew's genealogy Jesus is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who are the three Patriarchs of Judaism. Jesus is the Son of Abraham. He would also be the Son of Israel.
6- The Samaritan woman called Jesus a "Jew." (John 4:9)
7- Jesus was born "King of the Jews." (Matthew 2:2)
We know Jesus is still Jewish today because Hebrews 13:8 says "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." If Jesus was Jewish 2,000 years ago He's still Jewish today. Christianity has Jewish roots.
8- Jesus is from the tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14 and Revelation 5:5) Judah is where we get the word "Jew" from.
9- Jesus did not deny His Jewishness (Mark 15:2)
10- Jesus wore a tallit that had tzitzits (tassles). The woman with the issue of blood touched the hem or tassles on Jesus' garment.
11- Acts 26:14 tells us Jesus spoke to Paul from heaven in the Hebrew language. Hebrew is still the language of the Jews today.
To be anti-Israel and anti-Jew is also to be anti-Christ. Anti-semitism is really the work of the antichrist spirit.
3- Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
New King James Version
We support Israel because we want God to bless us. God promises to bless those who bless Israel. We can bless Israel by praying and also supporting it financially.
4- Psalms 122:6-7
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! "May they be secure who love you! 7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!"
English Standard Version
There is a story about Rahab in the Old Testament I would like to share with you. Joshua and Israel were going into the Promised Land and the first city to be taken was Jericho. Joshua sent two spies to look the city over and they came to Rahab's house. When the king of Jericho heard that Rahab had the two Jewish men in her house he wanted her to hand them over to him probably because he was going to execute them.
Joshua 2:3
So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, "Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country."
New King James Version
The Bible says Rahab showed kindness to the Jewish men.
Joshua 2:12
Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token,
New King James Version
Rahab did more than show kindness. She made peace with Israel.
Hebrews 11:31
By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
New King James Version
Read the same verse in the ESV.
Hebrews 11:31
By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
English Standard Version
This verse says she became friends with Israel. Everybody in Jericho died expect for Rahab and those she brought into her house.
Joshua 6:17
And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Lord: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
King James Version
The king of Jericho died because he did not make peace with Israel. This means even if your government leaders do not make peace with Israel you can and God will honor your faith like He honored Rahab's faith and protected her and her family.
We support Israel because we want God to protect us. God promises protection to those who love the city of Jerusalem and the ,Jewish people.
5- Luke 7:1-5
Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. 2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. 3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving, 5 "for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue."
New King James Version
This same Centurion in Acts chapter 10 was the first Gentile who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says he was well spoken of by the Jews.
Acts 10:22
And they said, "Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say."
English Standard Version
Acts 10:44-46
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
New King James Version
We support Israel because two benefits of it are healing and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is true that this Gentile man had great faith. His faith caused him to love Israel and support it financially by building them a synagogue.
6- Genesis 32:28
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
King James Version
We support Israel because it is the only nation that was created by the hand of God. The other nation were started by men. We support Israel because God supports Israel.
7- Ezekiel 5:5
"Thus says the Lord God: This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the center of the nations, with countries all around her."
English Standard Version
We support Israel because God has made Israel a matter of life or death. God has put Jerusalem in the center of the world and all nations revolve around it. Israel is not just a Mid-East problem. It is your problem.
Anti Israel or anti Jewish is anti Jesus. Jesus is Jewish so if you are anti Jewish you are against Jesus. If Jesus was on the earth today He would be crucified again.
Zechariah 12:2-3
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
KJV
God says all who would throw Jerusalem away will be cut into pieces. That sounds like a matter of life or death to me.
Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
NKJV
God says He will curse you if you curse the Jewish people. That's strong language. A person can curse themselves right into hell.
I support Israel because God has made Israel and the Jewish people a matter of life or death.
8- Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
NKJV
The brethren Jesus is referring to are the Jewish people. Christians are also brethren of the Lord. This means Jews and Christians are related. We are family. Jews can trace their roots to Abraham and Christians can also trace their roots to Abraham. We have the same family tree. We support Israel because family supports family. Brothers support brothers. Brethren support brethren.
9- Romans 11:26-27
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins."
NKJV
We support Israel because when we do we are helping to fulfill this Scripture. When Jewish people see the love that Christians have for them they will want this love also which comes from Yeshua, our Lord.
10- I've saved the best reason for last. This is probably the number 1 reason to support Israel. There are two Old Testament names for God that everyone will one day have to deal with.
Exodus 5:1
Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"
NKJV
Exodus 5:3a
So they said,"The God of the Hebrews has met with us."
NKJV
The God of Israel and the God of the Hebrews. The New Testament mentions two types of judgment. The judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14:10) and the great white throne judgment ( Revelation 20:11-12). Abraham called God "the Judge of all the earth" in Genesis 18:25.
If God is the Judge of all the earth and one of His names is the God of Israel common sense should tell us to be good to Israel. If God is the Judge of all the earth and one of His names is the God of the Hebrews it would be wise to make peace with the Jewish people . How terrible would it be to be a hater of Israel and one day stand before the God of Israel. How horrible would it be to be an anti-Semite and one day stand before the God of the Hebrews.
You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
New King James Version
We support Israel because they gave us the Messiah. There would be no Jesus without Israel. There would be no salvation without Israel. God chose Israel to bring salvation and hope to the world.
